I've been trying to find information about various publishing houses, specifically yaoi ones since they seem to be the ones struggling the most because of 1) lack of funds/investors, 2) fucking dumb business plans and 3) being run by retarded yaoi fangirls. Drama Queen has been out of commission for nearly a year now and it wounds me because they own the licenses to several titles including DVD, Audition, The Summit (my Korean guilty pleasure, you guys!), Devil x Devil, Last Portrait, Not/Love, Peter Panda and Promise. It took one the translators posting in their semi-abandoned forum to let people know wtf was going. GET YOUR SHIT TOGETHER OR SELL YOUR LICENSES ALREADY, DRAMA QUEEN. >:(

There's also the more or less recent news about Tokyopop's layoffs. The rumour/officially sanctioned word is that if volume 10 of Love Mode doesn't sell past a certain point, the last volume won't be published. WHICH IS TOTAL BULLSHIT. I grew out of Love Mode at like the age of 13 or something but how can you play your readers like that? Publish everything but the last volume? That's fucking wrong, man. That would be the equivalent of publishing everything but the last volume of Parakiss (which I'm going to start watching today!) or refusing to post the last two volumes of 21st Century Boys. It's just wrong, is my convoluted point.

I looked into Alichino for the first time in probably one or two years. It's still on hiatus. Which at this point, I would consider it more project abandonment than anything else. I cannot believe Tokyopop even picked up that title considering the author had already put it on hiatus prior to the official English translation. Longest cock-block in history, flist. The manga is pretty, almost too pretty and the story isn't so dull you don't care to read it but waiting SEVEN YEARS and counting for something new to show up? Awww hell no. And that is how long fans have been waiting. Seven years. The original run ended in May 2001, ffs.

According to the wiki, the author is still writing the Japanese version. But this news came out in 2005. Either she is painstakingly drawing every single panel in the pointillism method with tiny little precision tools or I'm not holding my breath that volume 4 is going to published in my lifetime.

Apparently now I cannot stop babbling about all of the nerdy manga shit I've been doing in between work and keeping up with Euros. I'm convinced that Shinji/Aizen is canon. Yeah, I fucking said it. I think in his heart of hearts, Kubotittah is a hatesex writer and in his Secret Stash of Pornographic Bleach there is some intense Shinji/Aizen smut that he won't let anyone else get at. Because he's a cockblock in the shape of a jrock cosplaying mangaka.

Weekly Naruto/Bleach doses haven't been enough so of course I've been picking up more titles (ahaha always a mistake). I read through all of MPD Psycho (which btw, fuck you Dark Horse) and while I remained mildly interested throughout the entire process, the ~*~possible relationship~*~ between Tetora and Miwa was the thing that interested me the most.
